My father carried around this picture during the war. He met Mickey overseas and someone took their picture. My dad has been gone for 15 years, but today Mickey joined him in heaven. I know they’ll have a lot to talk about. Thanks to all the WWII veterans. There aren’t many of them left on this Earth. God Bless.
Great photo of them.
Hello,
I saw this picture and read your post, I happen to be a veteran of WWII, I am 90 years old this year, it is indeed sad to hear about Mickey’s passing and of course your father. I’ve written a book about my experiences in WWII and have a blog on wordpress called dacker.org if you are interested please check out my blog and leave a comment if you feel so inclined.

Thanks for your comments. I am so glad to hear you have written about your experiences in WWII. I’ll catch your blog soon.I, too, am a writer and have just completed a short bio about my life…sort of an inspirational book.
My Dad was at Normandy (about the 4th wave of soldiers sent in).
I thought of this photo this morning and wondered what happened to it. Thanks for posting.
