Pardee Hall-1966

This is a photo of the dorm I lived in for three years while at Milligan College in the ’60’s. Just finished my short novella about my experiences in college. It’s called MILLLIGAN MAYHEM. I hope to publish it soon. Will let you know. Had a wonderful time in college…the best years of my life…so many good friends and teachers…and I actually learned a lot, too.

Purple

Purple

This is a table set by my mother. She loved purple and had quite a collection of purple glass. These dishes are plastic! They were so beautiful. Mom loved having company and cooking for them. I’m glad I took this photo of one of her famous table settings. I can taste the Greek salad now!

The Day I Met My 40 Year Old Son

The Day I Met My 40 Year Old Son

This is a photo of me and my son, Joey. I had not seen him for 40 years and finally met him. We found each other using the computer. My daughter and I went to meet him together. I had placed him in adoption when he was born. That was when abortion was NOT legal. I went off for 6 months and lived in the hills of NC until he was born. This was a milestone in my life that now has me advocating to save the lives of unborn babies.

Easter Dress

Easter Dress

Remember when everyone HAD to have a new outfit for Easter? We always had new dresses, shoes, socks, gloves, and even hats when I got older. Two years ago I decided to revamp the new Easter dress tradition by buying new dresses for my little girls. Here’s Lexie in her little yellow sundress, all ready for Easter!

We Call Him Puddles

We Call Him Puddles

This is photo of my precious Puddles. He was a cute little guy with a bad temper. He was accidentally dropped when he was a pup, but I think it caused a scar on his brain, and it made him contrary. I love him, however, and wrote a book about him. You can ask for it on demand at any bookstore. The title is the title of this blog. The book is a lap book designed for children under 5. It tells a story of a puppy learning how to go to the bathroom in the proper place. Has lots of color, photos, drawings, and sounds you can make as you read it…oops! oops! oops! Enjoy!

Spring Break, Anyone?

Spring Break, Anyone?

This photo should make your hungry for the surf and sand. There’s even a surf board in the pic! The weather is nice in Florida, but I think it’s supposed to rain all week. It is raining right now…one of those slow rains that smell so good with no lightening or thunder. I really love living in Florida. I don’t miss the cold nor the snow. It is pretty, but if you have to drive in it, it doesn’t seem so pretty. Many of the kids up North are missing spring break because they have to make up the days they missed for snow this year…bummer! Anyway, when you get a chance, come on down!

ALASKA, THE FINAL FRONTIER!

Image

ALASKA, THE FINAL FRONTIER!

Mother and I went on an Alaskan adventure together. First we did the land tour which was fantastic! We felt like pioneers exploring an untouched land. The last leg of our tour was a cruise. Here we are on deck and freezing! Someone on the cruise took our picture together. It was a great trip! I had a hard time keeping up with Mother! We rode planes, trains, boats, ships, and buses on that trip…it was exhausting yet exhilarating! We saw grizzly bears, mountain sheep, and even a pod of killer whales on our trip. I am so glad I have these memories with Mother. I miss her so much.

WE THREE..

WE THREE..

Picture of me, my sister Violet and my sister Lovada. We all have “old timey” names…I am Dora, named after my mother’s mother, Violet is named after my father’s mother, and Lovada is named after my mother’s aunt, who raised her because my mom’s mother died when she (mother) was only four years old. Left, oldest, to right, youngest. Aren’t we cute?
