Little White Pills

Today is Sunday…the 26th…our tenth anniversary…yah!  Computer has been on the blitz for several days.  Hopefully I can get this typed and saved before I get zapped!

Just realized this morning while getting ready for church, that my life is controlled by little white pills.  For some reason I don’t pay that much attention to the pills I take in the morning.  Lately I have been seeing a new doctor who has taken away several of my usual pills and put me on new ones.  Today I took a close look because I was in a rush and thought I had already taken such and such a pill…started pouring out the pills one by one and saw that they are all white…and little..almost identical…but with different markings on them.  I am sure I am not the only one who struggles with taking those stupid pills…I now realize the control they have over my life.  One pill helps me regulate sugar, one helps me pee, one helps me stay under control, one keeps me from having asthma, one keeps me from sneezing, and one keeps my blood pressure down…whew!  Seems like I would fall completely apart if it weren’t for these pills!!  Do you feel this way?

Just think, my doctor just doubled one of those little pills and added a new one to keep my cholesterol down.  I bet that *&$% pill is white, too!

Monday, Monday

Standard

Today was chilly but warmed up nicely. Frank and I had to makeup those blood giving/taking days we missed last week while we had the stomach virus. We both had to get new appointments: 8 am for me, 9:30 am for Frank. We made both appointments and ended up eating a sausage biscuit from McDonalds/…Yummy…

so exiting…we then traveled to the bank which was closed for a holiday that we had not even considered…remember we were in lock down…free at last…and the bank was closed for “free at last” Martin Day. So…we had no gas money, but Frank scrapped together four quarters to buy tooth paste.

Our finances are pitiful. We had too much spending last month and no incoming to back up for it. Some months are like that. Car insurance due, money for the staff for Christmas…those two alone ate $450 out of our nothing left over for the month…so we are still wondering how we are going to catch up.

Going down for supper tonight. Then it’s a BINGO night. I have my dollar saved up. If I win a game, I can play four more times. I won two weeks ago so i have enough to play today. I may add some more comments after I get back….

It’s after one am, but I wanted to add a photo to this post. Went to Bingo but didn’t win.

Picture is one of our outside area here at the Isles of Vero Beach. It’s a very nice place to live.

The pond and flowers grace our entrance every day.

Sunday’s Coming!

Standard

Saturday was an uneventful day.  It’s after eight now, and all I have accomplished today is watching movies!  Getting ready to wash my hair because Sunday is coming!

I don’t know about you, but I love Sunday’s.  Frank and I are attending Vero Vineyard Christian Church which is very small but very on fire for the Lord.  Their music ministry is awesome!!  I can feel God’s spirit around us within minutes of worship service which lasts about 30-45 minutes.  Usually the music is original and very inspiring.  The singers and the band should produce an album; they are very professional.

Before and after church, we mingle in the cafe and chat.  It’s a warm church with all ages, but Frank and I are probably the oldest members.  Lots of teens meet on Friday nights (around 15).  We are going to attend a worship ministry on Thursday nights beginning next week.

After church is diner in our dining room…this Sunday it will be in our rooms again.  Usually we practice for wii bowling after lunch but we are still in lockdown, so I guess that won’t happen either.  This has been a very lonely week.  We are always out and about here, eating, playing games, doing crafts, mingling, etc, but none this week.  Hopefully we will be back to normal by Monday.  I sure do miss my Bible Study group.  We are very close.  Most of us were sick; one is in rehab from another heart incident.

Another Saturday night for us YOUNG ‘UNS…TV, baths, etc.  then bedtime.  Frank conks out around 9, and I go to bed when ever I get sleepy…usually midnight or after.

Night all.

God Bless!

Still in “Lock Down”

Standard

Well, two days have passed and I’m still sick…yep!  Caught Frank’s virus!  The entire facility is in lock down to get this bug from taking over.  Staff delivers the food right to our doors…the entire building!! That is a feat in itself…So far 62 people have the virus…numbers are not dropping yet.

Stayed in bed for two days.  Right now my fever is coming back so I doubt if this blog will be very interesting unless I start having delusions…never know…

My ‘babies’ love it…Mommy in bed, that is.  Wanted to post their pic, I will try again.

January 2014 winter in Florida

Standard

Well I’ve been at the computer all day.  Like all the other “oldies” I have somewhat of a busy schedule that is filled with Dr. appointments (mine and Frank’s), lunch/dinner, computer time, and nap time.  I missed out on the nap, so I am getting punchy.  It is 12:30 am, and I have made my second entry on my blog.  I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it.  I will add some photos from time to time to get your engin’s reved  up.  I spent four days in Daytona and took some grand shots of the band shell and the beach.  For those of you who live in cold parts, I know you’ll want to book a flight as soon as possible.  January has been cold here, too…down to 39 the other night, but then up to 59 the next day.  I prefer the 80’s but will settle for a few cool days now and then to remind me of what I am missing up North…NOT.

Yes, I used to live up there, too…Philly, Baltimore, DC…to name a few of the cities where I’ve lived.  While I still can remember, I went to school in Maryland from third thru twelfth grades. My college years were spent in Tennessee…in the mountains…lots of snow and many days of the beautiful fall colors. I’m writing a book now about those college years in the 60’s.  I hope it will be finished soon so I can share some of it with you.  Those my age will remember the events as if they had happened yesterday.

You younger people will get a kick out of the rules of the college.  One in particular will set you laughing:  we could not stand closer than 6 inches to our boyfriends; no kissing or holding hands in public; if we were caught we received demerits for bad behavior and couldn’t go off campus for a week!

My eyes are closing and my mind is slowly fading so I will sign off for today and will give you more details tomorrow if my schedule isn’t too busy.

God Bless!

Flu Strikes the Home front!

Another day being 70.  Today I’m playing Nurse to my sick husband…coming from both ends makes a mess!  Oh, the joys of wife hood.

I’m still not sure how to get people to read this blog, but making them sick isn’t one way, I’m sure.  I’ll have to stop if it hits me like it did him.  I rushed out to pharmacy and stocked up on LYSOL, Pep-to Bismol, and other things.  I even bought some Pediolyte. It helps with dehydration.  (Of course, the pharmacy is just downstairs.)  I didn’t see anyone out and about.  A note was sent around saying that the cases of Noro Virus went from 6 yesterday to 26 today. That’s before Frank came down with it.  I wonder how many more are sick?

My sister Violet (in pic with me) told me to get a mask from the servers.  Next time I see them, I will.  For now I’ll just continue to write a little. I spent two hours trying to upload some pictures to this site using a disk from my camera, but for some reason, the disk never did show on My Computer…so maybe I’ll try again tomorrow to show you some  good pics from where I live in Vero.  It’s nice out today, but a little overcast.  Haven’t had TV on because I’ve been cleaning up poop!  Never thought of this when I married him.  Guess I should have.

This month we will celebrate/contemplate our 10th anniversary.  We were married on a cruise ship.  Wish they would contact us with a free anniversary cruise.  That is the only way we can celebrate big time…no money…I did get a gift card for my 70th birthday for a $50 dinner at one of several places.  We’ll celebrate that way…and I still have a bottle of champagne from our honeymoon for afterwards.

You know, we’re not dead until we’re dead.Image

God Bless.

70 and in purple!

Here I am in Daytona Beach with my sister. It was a great New Year’s Eve of 2014, but it was also my 70th birthday! How I got this old is a puzzle to me, but I’m going to tell you all about the fun, fantasy, and frenzy of my 70th year on Earth. Stand by.
